Besides working on FX's "The Shield", CCH Pounder has been working along side her husband Boubacar Koné nurturing the Musée Boribana (The Boribana Musuem) in Dakar Senegal. In 2008 this museum of contemporary African art will see its fourteenth year, a rare achievement in African continuity from the private sector.
By opening the Pounder-Koné Artspace we can provide a creative conduit between continents and cultures. We even hope, with proper funding, to be able to provide an artist exchange but that's in the future. For now, you can still help with our low grade fund raising by visiting the BLUE BOXES at the Gallery. They contain the one of a kind beadwork made by CCH Pounder.
Call the Gallery if you need space to work out a creative problem. We will have artists sessions there, discussions, panels, dinners etc.... we'll help you do anything artful to keep creativity burning.
